Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine group.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma."
